So have you guys had your epicness pill today? No? Well then let’s talk about The Elder Scrolls and fix that problem, shall we? Now I am pretty certain that most of you (if not all) are perfectly aware of that good old meme that goes like this:“I used to be a/an <insert something>, but then I took an arrow to the knee!” … And in case you somehow missed it, although I totally doubt it I will also include that video in the end of this post, just for fun, it should do you all good to watch it again even if you’ve seen it like a million times :)

Back to the subject at hand, now you know guys I really like games that started up early and had success due to several simple reasons:

  • They remind me of my childhood
  • They have to be damn good if they have like several continues or “remakes”
  • Usually if they were good back in the days, they just simply rule today
  • And that’s quite it … Aren’t they reason enough? If you have any other please <insert it down bellow in the comment section>

Now games such as Mario were great when computers were on the rise, however they didn’t made it big on today’s market. While games such as Grand Theft Auto, were fine back then and are going up and above the clouds today with much expected continues such as GTA V.

The Elder Scrolls is yet again one of those games, that made it back in the days and still manages to remain on top of it’s game (that sounds a bit weird in this context doesn’t it?). Well, anyways I must say that the developers went on a nice ascending arch and managed to hit the top by keeping plenty of the elements that made the elder scrolls famous in their most recent version of “Skyrim”, cause after all that’s were most of the epicness lies.

Don’t get me wrong the early version were pretty cool back then as well, but if they would have remained with those only there would have probably been a problem with inserting the word “epicness” in the dictionary today (just kidding …). Now let me show you what I was talking, through one of those nice videos that makes a cool rewind of the whole series. Ladies and the gentlemen, I give you “History of The Elder Scrolls” from 1994 till today and beyond, cause in case you failed to think this through yet, judging by the success of “Skyrim” they are sure to continue the series with even more dragons to kill … And now for the video:

So did the epicness level go beyond “more than enough” and straight to the roof after remembering those good times? It sure did in my case …

And finally don’t forget about the promise I made earlier the trick with the … “Arrow and the knee” meme, just watch and enjoy, and I will be back with more game news soon (I hope):
